Chris Rose's background in Rotary Aviation spans a 30 years period.

Chris' Grandfather pioneered one of Australia"s first Commercial Helicopter Companies in 1965 - Jayrow Helicopters based in Melbourne, Australia. Chris grew his passion and skill through the ranks to hold the position of Senior Pilot and General Manager of this business controlling a large fleet and compliment of 20 pilots Australia wide.

The family business still exists today headed by Chris' father currently operating over 20 turbine helicopters around Australia.

In 1996 Chris established his own company, Great Barrier Reef Helicopter Group. This operation now (2006) is the largest Turbine helicopter operator in North Queensland. GBR Helicopter Group has a permanent fleet of 8 helicopters and 45 crew.

Chris specializes in film and television and has accumulated the highest hours for WESCAM aerial film work in Australia and spent 50 days on location for the 1999 CBS Survivor series.

Chris has a reputation for quality and it is often said by crews that he is just so easy to work with on location. He has a 100% safety record and has been flying turbine Helicopters commercially for over 20 years.

Current and ongoing programs are with UK Granada, "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" This 3 times BAFTA winning English reality show is in its 5th series is being shot on the Goldcoast in November 2005 and January and November 2006. This large production will then relocate to North Queensland in 2007 for the following 3 years.

Chris spent 3 weeks on location for "Outback Jack" reality show in the Kimberley"s NT / WA region, and is also shooting aerial vision for BBC History Channel in Sept using Gyron stabilised mount system.

In Feb 2006 we worked on The Australian Tourism Commission new International campaign " Where the bloody hell are you" with Chris flying all filmed air to air over the Great Barrier Reef.

Other camera pilot credits for Chris include the Australian "Eco Challenge" Adventure Race, Camp Molloy and the new ATC commercials, feature films including the Thin Red Line, Paradise Road, and Escape from Absolom, and Subaru and Mercedes North American market commercials. Currently showing in cinemas 2006 is "Ten Canoes", a Jury Award winner at the 2006 Cannes film festival.

Chris' International client base includes Discovery Channel, Disney, Century Fox, CBS, NBC, BBC, Granada, and Via International to name a few.

Air to Air flying requires piloting precision and skill, and Chris' air to air filming experience includes craft subjects such as 747, 737, Caribou, seaplanes, hang gliders, both military and civilian Helicopters, and Flight Ship, a unique wing in ground effect craft in it's inaugural world sea trials.
